About RecycLights

The following took effect on February 9, 2004

California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 23, Section 66273.5: Applicability-Lamps. (a) (2) on or after February 9, 2004. Generators (handlers) of Universal Waste-Lamp(s) can no longer dispose of lamps containing Mercury (i.e. fluorescent lamps, mercury lamps, compact fluorescents, etc.) into the Municipal Landfills without an exemption.

RecycLights presents a solution to this regulation for Businesses and Governmental Entities.

RecycLights program includes Universal Waste-Lamp Recycling Service Containers for all types of Mercury lamps. These 'recycling service containers' comply with Federal and State regulations regarding containers that are structurally sound, remained closed, adequate to prevent breakage, and compatible with contents of lamps.

Plus the 'recycling service containers' have the required labeling including: accumulation start date labels, proper contents, instructions, and limited training. No labor costs associated with assembling, labeling, taping boxes, or counting lamps. Free up your personnel to perform other functions. All you do is fill the containers and call RecycLights toll free for pick up and delivery of additional 'recycling service containers'. Certificate of Recycling for your compliance records.

RecycLights does not charge fuel surcharges, off line pick-up charges, or other hidden costs.

RecycLights also has Battery, Consumer Electronic Devices and CRT recycling programs.

RecycLights maintains OSHA trained HAZMAT teams to respond to Mercury spills and Universal Waste incidents in refuse containers. Intentionally broken lamps thrown into trash containers are regulated as a RCRA Hazardous Waste.
